Let’s be real—Gen Z is rewriting the playbook on how they learn and engage at work. And if we take a page from TikTok’s genius, we can tap into what actually works for this generation: bite-sized, engaging, and on-demand learning experiences.

Here are 3 quick, easy-to-implement ways you can train and upskill Gen Z—without losing their attention:

  1. 60-Second Skill Drills – Use short, snackable video tutorials to teach key workplace skills (e.g., "How to Handle Feedback Like a Pro" or "Mastering Email Etiquette in 3 Steps"). Most likely you already have content in your LMS, so it’s about rebranding and breaking them up into shorter video content to increase consumption.

  2. Peer-Led Learning via Short Videos – Encourage employees to create quick, authentic knowledge-sharing videos (just like TikTok duets!) where they pass on tips, best practices, and insights. Most likely you can source this from your leaders, high performing peers and other mentors in your company. There wouldn’t be any shortage of knowledge sharing here.

  3. Interactive Microlearning Challenges – Think gamification: quizzes, polls, and real-world scenarios delivered via Slack, Teams, or mobile apps to reinforce learning in real time. Who doesn’t love a good game, especially if it’s fun, helps them be successful, and connects them with others in their cohort. Want to add a cherry on top? Include a prize for the most engaged, most completed games, highest score, and etc.
