Hello

Hi, I’m Dr. Rhea Horton. Career strategist, educator, and founder of Career Bliss LLC.

Clients call me a dynamic leader, trusted coach, and fierce advocate for equitable career growth.

I call myself proof that it’s possible to rise, even when the odds say otherwise.

I’m originally from Chicago, a proud Loyola University alum (go Ramblers!) with a degree in Psychology and a Business minor. My journey took me to Texas, where I earned my MA and PhD in Counseling Psychology, specializing in Diversity and Business, at Texas Woman’s University.

Over the last 15+ years, I’ve built a career across Tech, Consulting, Higher Education and other industries, leading Talent and Career Development strategies that don’t just check boxes but actually change outcomes. As a certified Diversity Professional®, I’ve developed and led initiatives that have helped employees from interns to executives feel seen, supported, and that they belong.

But here’s the truth:

Even with ambition and potential, too many professionals, especially early career talent along with women and people of color, are entering the workplace and silently struggling. I’ve seen it. I’ve lived it.

My Story

As a first-generation college graduate and professional, my career journey was initially marked by a lot of trial and error. Navigating the corporate world presented numerous learning opportunities; some positive, some challenging, and some outright difficult. Over time, I figured things out and grew my career into leadership roles. But, I often wished I had someone to guide me and help me overcome obstacles more smoothly and sooner before the many times I burnt myself aiming to reach unspoken and unrealistic performance expectations.

That’s why I created our L.E.A.P. framework that helps companies not only attract Gen Z talent but keep them, grow them, and prepare them for leadership. However, the work doesn't only belong to company leaders. It is also up to the individual team members to help solve these corporate challenges. That’s why I launched the B.O.S.S. Up career coaching program designed to help people of color own their performance, build visibility, and grow careers that don’t require burnout.

Because I’ve been:

  • The only one in the room

  • Overqualified and under-recognized

  • Told to “wait my turn”

  • Unsure if I even belonged

But I’ve also learned how to rise, and now I help others do the same.

For Companies: Ready to engage and retain your next-gen talent while building a workforce that lasts? Let’s create a future-forward strategy together.

For Professional Women of Color: Tired of shrinking to fit in and still being under-recognized? It’s time to B.O.S.S. Up, lead boldly, and get what the recognition you have earned.
